Inter-tissue relationships in the synthesis and distribution of carnitine.

چکیده
Carnitine (3-hydroxy-4-trimethylammonio-butanoate), an essential cofactor for mitochondrial long-chain fatty acid oxidation, is synthesized in mammals, and consequently is present in diets containing meat products. When the diet does not contain carnitine rats and man appear to produce sufficient carnitine to maintain homoeostatis. Carnitine is the product of the essential amino acids lysine and methionine. Specific lysinyl residues (in peptide-linkage) are methylated in the 6-amino position. After proteolysis, N 6 trimethyl-lysine is released and converted, ultimately, into carnitine. Although the metabolic intermediates for the formation of carnitine have been characterized, the intertissue relationships of these intermediates have not been fully established.

Introduction: This study aimed to compare the response of liver tissue BAX and BCL-2 gene expression to aerobic training with L-carnitine supplementation in rats intoxicated by Boldenone. Material and Methods: In this experimental study, 30 male Wistar rats, aged 12 weeks (weight 195±7.94 g) were randomly divided into five groups: control, no-treatment, boldenone (5 mg/kg), L-carnitine (100 mg...
متن کاملP-36: Administration of L-Carnitine and Homogenized Testis Tissue on The Structure of Testis and Sperm Parameter in Busulfan-Treated Rats
Background: Busulfan is a chemotherapy drug that is widely used for cancer treatment. However, administration of busulfan to male patients with malignant diseases may cause temporary or permanent sterility. Therefore, research into drugs or Materials to reduce the side effects of busulfan on the male reproductive system is necessary. In the present study the protective effects of L-carnitine an...
متن کاملTHE EFFECT OF AEROBIC TRAINING AND INTAKE OF L-CARNITINE ON PROTEIN LEVEL OF HIPPOCAMPUS CNTF AND CNTFR IN DIABETIC RATS
Background: Diabetes causes nerve tissue damage and ultimately death of nerve cells, especially in important areas such as the hippocampus. It seems that exercise training and anti-inflammatory supplements can moderate this condition. Therefore, the aim of this study was to determine the effect of aerobic training exercise and L-carnitine consumption on the levels of hippocampus CNTF and CNTFR ...

Abstract Introduction: Researchers usually search for medications of infertility. Hence, this study was done to determine the effects of L-Carnitine and exercise on histological changes of testicular tissue after Boldenone steroid use in male rats. Objective: Assessment of the effects of L-Carnitine with Endurance training after Boldenone use on testicular tissue changes in male rats. Materi...
